Polo shirts offer a traditionally clean-cut style that anyone can wear. Polo shirts can also be dressed up with funky accessories to give them an edgier look. Whatever the look you’re going for, when the collar of your polo shirt starts to roll and curl, the look can be ruined. Learning how to prevent rolling of your favorite polo shirt collar can help you preserve the style you want to convey.
Instructions
1.
- 1
Switch on your iron and set it to a medium heat with the
steam on. Smooth out your polo shirt on an ironing board and turn the collar up
so that it lies flat. Spray the collar with a liberal amount of starch.
- 2
Run the iron slowly over the collar to smooth wrinkles
and concentrate it a little more over the corners where your collar typically
curls. You will hear a sizzle, but this is just the starch drying up and doing
its job.
- 3
Turn your shirt over, and spray the other side of the
collar with another good amount of starch; then follow with an iron, concentrating
it over the corners. Switch off your iron and set aside on a flat surface to
cool while also allowing your shirt to cool for one minute.
- 4
Spray the collar once more evenly on both sides with
starch getting the corners of the collar with a couple of extra sprays; then
flip it back down and hang it up to dry for five minutes.
- 5
Cut off a one-half-inch-long piece of fabric tape and
stick it under one of the corners of your collar; then press down so that it
lightly adheres the corner of the collar to your shirt. Repeat with the other
corner end of your collar.
